| 2001, a small firm came to light. Spark Capital, started by a group of professionals, who wanted to create a company that would not only enhance value for entrepreneurs but would be a byword for ethics as well. A business where relationships and not percentages would hold sway.
This was the bedrock on which Spark was built, client by client, transaction by transaction. It was not easy, it often meant saying ‘no’ to what seemed like golden opportunities...
Time, however, has shown us that our model works.
Today, Spark Capital is a full services investment bank with a Category I merchant banking licence. Its clientele reads like a roster of the who’s who of business. An open corporate culture has attracted the cream of talent from diverse areas in finance. An experienced team handles Corporate Finance, Investment Management and Securities businesses.
While the size has changed, the soul remains intact. Opportunities are still viewed from both a professional and ethical angle. Compromise as a word is not heard within the office. The conscience still has the final veto.
